Frequently Asked Questions

  • Just as biodiversity refers to the variety of life and neurodiversity celebrates the diversity of minds, chromodiversity highlights the natural diversity in our DNA. We coined this term to depathologize the language of genetics and promote a more positive view of genetic differences, using terms like genetic variations rather than genetic disorders.

  • Founded by Elliot Polak, entrepreneur and father of a child with an extra X chromosome, My XXY | Chromodiversity™ Foundation was established in 2020 to transform how the world understands and supports genetic and developmental differences. Read more about our story.

Our team combines lived experience with expertise across science, education, and advocacy, bringing together individuals with genetic differences, their families, and professionals dedicated to creating lasting change.

  • Around 1 in 20 children have a DNA difference, and 1 in 5 face developmental differences, yet many families struggle to access timely, informed support. Stigma, low awareness, and outdated systems delay interventions that could change lives.

Chromodiversity develops practical tools and programs that aid parents and children, including eXtraordinarY eXperiences for kids, and ChromoCompass™ — an online platform designed to deliver scalable support for families worldwide.
